Sacred Earth: The Alchemy of Clay

A Three-Day Pottery Retreat in the Golden Hills of Tuscany
Held at The Transmission School
Hosted by Elizabeth Evans of Earth to Stars Studio

Dear Soulful Woman,
Do you feel, deep down, that you need space to evolve?
To learn something new — so you can begin to truly create?

There is something profoundly grounding about slowing down and sitting at the potter’s wheel.

Your hands meet earth, water
The wheel turns in steady rhythm.
Then Fire transforms what you’ve made.

And in that quiet alchemy, something shifts.

Imagine yourself in the golden hills of Tuscany. Golden morning light spills across the hills. Birdsong drifts through warm air scented with rosemary and lavander.
This is Sacred Earth — The Alchemy of Clay.
A three-day immersion into pottery, presence, and profound restoration.

Working with the Elements
Pottery on the wheel is more than technique — it is a meditation in motion.
You will learn, step by step, how to:
Centre clay on the wheel with confidence
Pull and shape elegant forms — bowls, cups, vessels
Trim and refine your pieces
Explore beautiful, luminous glazes
Understand the firing process from start to finish
Clay invites you into balance.
Water softens. Fire transforms. Air cools. Earth holds.
As your hands move, your nervous system settles. The rhythm of the wheel becomes grounding, almost hypnotic. Many women describe it as a return to themselves — steady, calm, embodied.
No experience is needed. Beginners are warmly welcomed. Skilled guidance ensures you leave not only inspired, but capable.
And yes — you will take home your own finished, glazed pottery. Functional, beautiful pieces infused with your energy and intention.

The Beauty of Glaze & Fire
Colour is where the magic reveals itself.
In our glaze workshop, you’ll explore soft celadons, earthy neutrals, and rich mineral tones that echo the Tuscan landscape. You’ll learn how surface and flame interact — how chemistry becomes art.
As the sun begins to set, we gather for something ancient and unforgettable: a Raku firing ceremony.
Raku is elemental and alive — fire, smoke, crackle, unpredictability.
We open the kiln at sunset, flames rising into the darkening sky, each piece transformed in an alchemical moment you will never forget.
You will create and fire your own Raku amulet — a symbol of this threshold moment.

Deep Rest & Inner Stillness
Creation flows best from a rested body.
Each day begins with gentle, grounding yoga and closes with guided Yoga Nidra — a deeply restorative practice that invites the body to sleep while the mind remains softly aware.
In Yoga Nidra, you enter a state between waking and dreaming — a place where tension dissolves, creativity awakens, and the subconscious gently reorganises.
Between sessions, wander barefoot in wild grass. Sip herbal tea from handmade cups. Share nourishing, seasonal meals prepared from the garden. Walk the Tuscan hills in quiet companionship.
This retreat is not rushed.
It is spacious by design.

— Elizabeth Evans
